Laser Thread Vein Removal

What are thread veins?

Thread veins are tiny blood vessels that can be seen on the surface of the skin. They can be red in colour, but there are also spider veins that are blue or purple.  They are most commonly found on the cheeks and around the nose but may also manifest on the legs and in other parts of the body. Thread veins do not pose health hazards, but they can have a negative aesthetic effect. Laser treatment is the most effective way to get rid of thread veins.

What is laser thread vein removal?

Laser thread vein removal is the best way to treat and eventually remove spider veins. It is a non-invasive procedure that uses laser energy to target the thread veins, causing them to break down without the need for surgical steps. The result is skin that looks clearer and healthier without the unsightly red, purple, or blue blemishes

We use the Candela GentleMAX Pro Laser (using the ND YAG device) to treat thread veins that can reach up to a maximum of 3mm in diameter, ensuring optimal results without injuring the surrounding tissue.

How does laser thread vein removal work?

The laser light is focused on the thread vein to quickly heat it up. The targeted heat will result in the vein collapsing, which may look like a bruised area on the surface of the skin. The collapsed vein will eventually dissolve and naturally be flushed out of the body in time. After the treatment, the skin will look clear once more, without unsightly veins and red patches to mar the complexion. The treatment is completed without the need for anaesthesia, with almost no risk of scarring or infection.

In some cases, there are visible results after just one laser thread vein removal session. However, three treatment sessions may be needed to achieve maximum results. Each session will be scheduled three to four weeks after the last one, providing enough time for the previous treatment session’s response to be assessed properly before proceeding to the next one.
