Threading is a method of hair removal originating in Egypt and India. In more recent times it has gained popularity in Western countries.
In threading, a thin cotton thread is doubled, then twisted. It is then rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair from the follicle. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove short rows of hair.
Most clients like the result of it because it does pluck even small this hair that the tweezer can’t get, leaving the area looking cleaner and makes the eyebrows stands out more.
Please note that some blemishes may require a GPs written consent prior to treatment.
Both removes the hair from the follicle, but there are different opinions for different clients. Some clients find the waxing less painful because its quick and we can do big area at once. But you can’t do waxing on people with sensitive skin. Whether the threading method can be used for all skin types. The heat of the wax can make the skin very sensitive after the treatment and leaves it with erythema (redness) and will take longer time to calm down than the threading because there are no heat just sliding the tread on the surface of the skin. Advantages for eyebrow threading, as opposed to eyebrow waxing, are that it provides more precise control in shaping eyebrows. Threading allows for a more defined and precise shape and can create better definition for eyebrows.
It is a method of removing unwanted hair on the entire face and upper lip area. Threading is not a good method for removing hair on arms or legs, as the hair in those regions is typically quite coarse and there is too much to remove.
Depending on your hair type and area of the face, full re-growth can be anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. Hair will start to grow back sparse and finer after repeated threading because hair is pulled out from the root, which gets weakened through this process.
Do not use exfoliating creams or perfumed products right after your threading process. If you want to treat the redness, which is common just after the process, then use any cold compress, like ice cube or ice pack. Using aloe vera or rose water after threading is also a great way to heal and cool your skin.
DON'T put anything on your brows right after hair removal. Wait at least two hours before you apply moisturizers, cleansers or makeup directly to the threaded area to keep bacteria away from open pores. Try to stay away from touching the skin because you can get germs inside the pores which will make the skin ends up with pimples. You can get re-threaded as soon as the hair grows just above the skin.
Threading can be the safest way of hair removal methods. There is no heat or pulling in this technique. It is just a thread made out of cotton that catches the hair and pulls it out from the follicle. And everything is on the surface of the skin. A little redness might accrue but it usually calms down very quickly.
