I went to see Kingston Laser & Aesthetics to remove some skin tags. I had the procedure done before by someone else and it was NOT the most pleasant experience hence I was a bit nervous upon arrival. They were careful to remove them quickly and made sure that I was as comfortable as I could be. No scarring either.’

Advanced Cosmetic Procedures (ACP) offer effective and immediate results in the treatment of:

Hard, white, small spots that lie under the surface of the skin, usually associated with dry skin.

Skin Tags

These growths look like tiny mushrooms that sprout in areas often subjected to friction.

Blood Spots

Bright red skin blemishes which are dome-shaped and slightly raised; these are more commonly seen in men than in women.

Spider Naevus

This resembles a spider, with a central dilated blood vessel and tiny capillaries radiating from the middle part.

ACP techniques are used to reduce a mole’s size and to lighten its colour, but there may be some instances when consent from a GP is required before the treatment.

Seborrhoeic Keratosis

Non-contagious members of the warts family. These can be found on the face, head, and body.

Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra

Brown or black domeshaped papules that are mostly found on the upper chest, neck, and cheeks.

Thread Veins

Thread veins are the small, unsightly red, blue, or purple veins.

ACP can also treat age spots, Campbell de Morgan spots/cherry angiomas, sebaceous cysts, xanthelasma, Molluscum contagiosum, sebaceous hyperplasia, sebaceous naevi, and papillomas.

What are Thread Veins?

Thread veins are the small, unsightly red, blue, or purple veins that can usually be found on the legs and on the face, although these superficial veins can sometimes be found in other body parts. These veins become visible through the skin when they become dilated and broken; the appearance. of thread veins can also be caused by the skin becoming thinner and more translucent with age.

The veins are more common during pregnancy due to the high amount of estrogen; smoking and being overweight can also increase the risk of developing thread veins. Other factors that increase the likelihood of developing thread veins include prolonged sun bathing, the use of steroids as medication, radiotherapy, and exposure to extreme temperatures or wind.

These unattractive veins can cause a great deal of embarrassment, specially if they cannot easily be covered by clothes or with cosmetics (in the case of facial veins). They are not dangerous, but thread veins have the tendency to become larger in number and in size with the passage of time.

What are Skin Pigmentation Problems?

Genetics or Hormonal changes and excessive exposure to sunlight can cause skin pigmentation issues, resulting in dark patches or spots on the skin. Skin pigmentation problems can occur anywhere on the body, but when present on visible areas such as the face, they can be a source of embarrassment.

About Laser Treatment & Advanced Cosmetic Procedures We Offer

‘The cutting-edge technology of Syneron Candela GentleMax Pro safely solves the problem of thread veins and pigmentation, by using the most advanced in laser technology. Thread veins up to 3mm in diameter and pigmentation of high contrast can be treated. The filtered light is carefully emitted so that the correct wavelength focuses on only the area to be treated, without harming the surrounding tissue.

With thread vein removal, the blood vessels quickly absorb the light, which is then converted to heat to destroy the vessels. After the treatment, the vessels will then safely and gradually disappear as the body reabsorbs them in a natural, safe manner.

In time, there will be very little to no trace of the original lesion left. For the treatment of hyperpigmentation the intense laser beam is absorbed by the melanin in the skin blemish, and then converted to heat. The energy subsequently breaks down the pigment, which may be: absorbed by the body upon healing; removed from the body with the crust that develops after the laser treatment; or stay in minute, invisible amounts in the body.

For Minor Blemish removal, ACP involves a small Sterex probe (about the size of an eyelash) touching the surface of the skin and expelling a slight burst of energy. Crusting, colour change, reduction or the blemish falling away may occur and sometimes several treatments are required for optimum results.’

Before & After's

What to Expect from the Treatment

Depending on the extent of the thread veins condition and the size of the treatment area, the laser treatment can be completed in 15 minutes or longer. You may be able to see an immediate and significant effect on the appearance of the veins, pigmentation, and skin blemishes, which will become even fainter in appearance with time.

The number of sessions required will depend on the specific skin condition to be treated. During and immediately after the treatment, you may feel a very slight discomfort. The experience is described as tolerable by most clients. Discomfort is managed by applying cooling aloe vera to the treated areas. Some redness or bruising may be visible on the treated areas, but these discolourations should eventually fade in a few weeks. The Aesthetician will explain fully at a FREE consultation.
